I stayed there for 2 weeks when I was down on my luck. They serve meals during the week and have case managers to help with resources. Most of the staff was people that had experienced homelessness themselves so that was nice cuz they can relate. Mrs Austin case worker extordinaire has much knowledge and will work hard for you until she won't. She's a person that uses her authority foe about as much bad as good. Just remember to smile and nod, smile and nod and stay off her radar or if she's in a way your butt will be put out quick is she wants you gone. No one should use their authority to hurt people and I'm sure she does exactly that on a regular basis. And if your not a resident if the state u can be put out even if there's open beds especially if the queen thinks so. Sad.....

This place does not resemble God's work. The staff is always bitter to the people who need their services. I have actually stayed here a few years back during hard times. It was the most awful experience I have ever faced. I choose living in a tent in the woods during the winter than be put down here on a daily. You are forced to go to church every day for 2 hours in order to stay here. Also you the homeless person are to pay on a sliding scale for your stay. $1 each day for 7 days, $2 each day for 7 days, and so on. You cannot wear your clothes in the facility and are made to wear their nasty clothes including tighty whities. It is absolutey the worst place for any homeless person to end up. NEVER DONATE TO THIS PLACE. What a Sham

I hated every second I was there, I lived there 7 months.I helped feed the homeless 3 times a day, breakfeast lunch and diner. Almost all of them were lazy, dead beat drunks.Morning star Mission is a joke. This place enables lazy losers to continue to get free meals and a place to sleep. Most are able body and young enough. If there is a god he:'s not here.To hell with Mourning star Mission!

I had the privilege of working at Morningstar. What goes on their amazing and many of the workers are amazing including the director. What they do there is so much more than a shelter. It has a shelter, emergency shelter, they feed the public 365 days a year unbelievable with some great workers(180) guys love you guys, food pantry, donations upon donations of clothing and food etc., the 180 program is unbelievable biblical training in action, the woman and family center is breathtaking what they do and beautiful building, the drop in center is real cool they let people warm up in the day and watch movies and read books and have chapel service twice a day, prayer room and computer room to help people to get their lives back together by searching for work etc. the people I worked with are very dedicated workers and are in it to really help people and I never felt they did anything for wrong purposes their. Genuine honest Ministry. There was only one thing that I give as an encouragement. The Mission really is the hands and feet manifesting the love of Christ by giving food, clothing, and shelter. Which is a much needed ministry and is a must for the Church to be active and being a light in the World. If you look at the New Testament that they always wanted to encourage helping the poor, needy, widows and the fatherless. To do that is to be Christlike. Mere words are not always enough we must actively show that Love and so Morningstar does this extremely well. But, in the New Testament that was not the foundation, the foundation was first not only showing the love of Christ but mainly giving the gospel of Christ for the salvation of peoples souls. That does happen at Morningstar and many people genuinely do care about peoples souls. I think many of the people who give to Morningstar might care more about giving to the homeless then giving the life saving message of the gospel. Jesus and the gospel has to be the foundation to Morningstar. I am not saying they don't do this but I would like to see that at a greater level at Morningstar. I pray Morningstar continue to do things the way they are. I was blessed to work there and meet the people there. It was a great experience. Please may the Gospel of Jesus and the love of Jesus by reaching the needs of the hopeless go hand and hand.
